Our story
Springs & Neaps started with a few tide posters made as Christmas presents for family on the North Cornwall coast. The feedback was lovely, so it became a small business, made in Newquay. Everything is made to order from open tide-gauge data, one poster at a time, for the places people love.
We make them for people who live by the tide, or wish they did: the dawn swimmers, the surfers checking the banks, the rock poolers waiting for the big lows, and everyone who has a beach they think of as theirs. A poster on the wall keeps that place close, and gives you a nudge to get back in the sea.
Every one starts with real measurements from the UK's own tide gauges, and we test our tides against what the sea actually did. Then we set the whole year out like an almanac and draw your place like an old sea chart.
Springs and neaps are the two rhythms of the tide: the big swings twice a month when the sun and moon pull together, and the quiet days in between.
